Microman Military Force Series (12/3/04)

Microman 2004 Military Force series was released in Japan on December 3rd, 2004. The set was delay slightly from the original November release date. Military Force were not true Microman but actually battle droids created for Acroyear and Microman armies. There were total of eight different figures in the series with four (MF401-04) belong to Microman side and four (MF405-08) belong to the Acroyear side. The Microman and Acroyear Military Force figure each had distinctively different head designs with Microman Military Force head look like those crash dummy with two round eyes and simple mouth (a bit like C3P0), while the Acroyear had slightly more elaborate look with more menacing look. All eight shared the same newly retooled body based on Micro Full Action Body but with added 3mm ports (total of 18 ports) for used with the numerous "weapon set" accessories that included with each figure. There were total of four weapon set design; M-01 and M-02 for Microman side and A-01 and A-02 for Acroyear side. Each of the weapon set came with two color variants - Gun Metal and Black for total of eight different weapon set. The new Military Force body resembled a lot of the Beta Midget figures even the similar color schemes.

MF4-01 Space Rescue with M-01 Gun Metal Weapon Set

MF4-01 Space Rescue was the first of the Microman Military Force series with off-white body and clear orange joints. The clear parts gave these figures the appearance of having clear inner body with the solid parts look like outer shell. MF4-01 came with Gun Metal Version (chrome) of M-01 Weapon Set. There was no pre-set instruction for the accessories and it seem the designer has intended for them to be used for "custom" look. There were some sample guide in the catalog on what could be done with them but overall the accessories were pretty much left up to the imagination. Takara have clearly meant for this series to be used for army building and custom work purposes by position them at a lower price point (800 Yen each) along with a background story that set them up as mass-produced droid troopers. While these Military Force might not have the elaborate design as the previous series, the simple design made them one of the more fun and more durable set to actually "play" with. The ability to customized the look of each figure to one own preference also a big plus especially for those who prefer the simpler design.

MF4-02 Techno Wave with M-02 Gun Metal Weapon Set

MF4-02 Techno Wave was the second of the Microman Military Force series with blue gray body and clear blue joints. The clear parts gave these figures the appearance of having clear inner body with the solid parts look like outer shell. MF4-02 came with Gun Metal Version (chrome) of M-02 Weapon Set. There was no pre-set instruction for the accessories. It seem the designer had intended for them to be used for "custom" look. There were some sample guide in the catalog on what could be done with them (and also on Takara Microman website) but overall the accessories were pretty much left up to the imagination. Takara have clearly meant for this series to be used for army building and custom work purposes by position them at a lower price point (800 Yen each) along with a background story that set them up as mass-produced droid troopers. While these Military Force might not have the elaborate design as the previous series, the simple design made them one of the more fun and more durable set to actually be "play" with. The ability to customized the look of each figure to one own preference and taste is definitely a big plus Military Force series.

MF4-03 Lava Planet with M-01 Black Weapon Set

MF4-03 Lava Planet was the third figure in Microman Military Force series. Lava Planet had clear orange body with clear red joints and was the only clear Military Force for Microman side. (Acroyear side also had one clear figure). The clear orange and red made the figure a little brighter than the rest and probably the most stand out of the set. While it was nice to get one clear version, the color scheme did not seem to work very well for Lava Planet unless you like brightly "Lifesaver" candy color Microman figure. I often like clear body on Microman figure but I have to say Lava Planet color scheme just clashed too much for my taste. MF4-03 came with Black Version of M-01 Weapon Set.

MF4-04 Virtual Task with M-02 Black Weapon Set

MF4-04 Virtual Task was the 4th of the Microman Military Force set. He came with dark gray body (with silver speckles) and clear green joints. (He is probably my favorite on the Microman side - just can't resist those clear green color). The clear joints gave the figure the appearance of having clear green inner parts and gave it a nice futuristic look. MF4-04 came with Black Version of M-02 Weapon Set. There was no pre-set instruction for these accessories and it seem the designers intended for them to be used for "custom" looks. There were some sample guide on what could be done with the accessories but overall these Weapon Set were pretty much intended to be left to one own imagination. Takara had clearly meant for this particular Microman series to be used for army building and for custom works with the low price point (800 Yen each, about $5-$6) along with the background story that set them up as mass produce droid troopers. While these Military Force might not have the elaborate design as the previous series, the simple design made them one of the more fun and more durable set to actually "play" with. The ability to custom the look of these Microman figure was definitely a big plus.

MF4-05 Night Recon

MF4-05 Night Recon was the fifth figure in Microman Military Force and part of the Acroyear side. Night Recon had matt black body with clear purple joints. MF4-05 came with Gun Metal Version of Type A-01 Weapons Set. Like other figures in this series, there was no pre-set instruction for the accessories. Set A-01 came with head gear that when plug into Military Force head gave the the Acroyear 2 like head fins.

MF4-06 Stealth Camo with A-02 Gun Metal Weapons Set

MF4-06 Stealth Camo was the sixth figure in Microman Military Force and part of Acroyear side. Stealth Camo had clear body with smoke clear joints and was the lone clear Military Force for the Acroyear side. (Microman side also had one clear figure). Stealth Camo was originally shown with clear purple joints but they were changed to dark smoke clear parts instead in the final version. The clear parts was pretty dark and almost black in places. The clear and black color gave this figure the "Mission-in-Stealth" scheme that was used with the Replica Microman series. MF4-06 came with Gun Metal Version of the A-02 Weapons Set. The ability to customized the look of each figure to one own preference and taste is definitely a big plus Military Force series.

MF4-07 Forest Hide with Type A-01 Black Weapon Set

MF4-07 Forest Hide was the seventh figure in Microman Military Force and part of Acroyear side. Forest Hide had dark green body with black joints (he was the only figure in the Military Force series with solid color joints) Forest Hide had the most "Real Type" color with military olive drab green and solid black joints. MF4-07 came with Black Version of Type A-01 Weapons Set. Like other figures in this series, there was no pre-set instruction for the accessories. Set A-01 came with head gear that when plug into Military Force head gave the the Acroyear 2 like head fins. The ability to customized the look of each figure to one own preference and taste is definitely a big plus Military Force series

MF4-08 Sand Storm with Type A-02 Black Weapon Set

MF4-08 Sand Storm was the last figure in Microman Military Force and part of Acroyear side. Sand Storm had olive green (almost brown) body with clear joints. MF4-08 came with Black Version of Type A-02 Weapons Set. Like other figures in this series, there was no pre-set instruction for the accessories. Set A-02 came with head gear that when plug into Military Force head gave them the Germany SS style army helmet. It seem the designer had intended for the Military Force to be used for "custom" look. There were some sample guide in the catalog on what could be done with them (and also on Takara Microman website) but overall the accessories were pretty much left up to one imagination. The accessories (on sprue) were packed on the back side of the blister tray and can be clearly view. Since the blister can be reseal this made perfect storage for any accessories that not being used.
